Academic Scholarships
In addition, the DYC Foundation has currently two academic scholarship programs:
a. The Duke and Young Chung Scholarship for Paint Branch High School of Burtonsville, Maryland, USA.
The DYC Foundation offers scholarship(s) for a high performing high school senior(s) demonstrating financial need at Paint Branch High School. The scholarship is to be applied for the recipient's first year of college tuition and has been made in appreciation of Paint Branch High School's dedication to its students and the local community. Mr. and Mrs. Duke and Young Chung have six adult children, all of whom graduated from Paint Branch High School. The DYC Foundation is committed to provide college scholarships for graduating high school seniors at Paint Branch High School each academic year for at least the next decade, beginning in spring 2016.
Since spring 2016, the DYC Foundation has offered seven (7) college scholarships (each award of $1,000 or more) to Paint Branch High School students.
b. The Duke and Young Chung Scholarship for Soong Sil Middle/High School of Seoul, South Korea.
The DYC Foundation is also pleased to offer scholarships for several selected students from Soong Sil Middle/High School (숭실중/고등학교) of Seoul, South Korea. The scholarships will provide full financial assistance for tuition and related expenses for students demonstrating financial need while attending Soong Sil Middle/High School (scholarships are contingent on continued high academic performance and will end upon graduation from Soong Sil Middle/High School). This scholarship is made in deep appreciation by Mr. Duke Chung, who personally was given a full academic scholarship to attend school at Soong Sil Middle/High School during his childhood and youth, enabling him to later attend university.
